Home to Puller Memorial Primary School, The White Horse Pub, a Village Hall, Church and Garage with Petrol station and shop. The most important thing about High Cross is of course that one of only three men to hold two Victoria Crosses is buried in High Cross Churchyard.
Most famous or Lt. Arthur Martin-Leake VC and Bar (1874-1953), awarded the first in the Boer War and the Bar for action in Flanders. He lived at Marshalls in High Cross.
